Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game is getting a new edition from Ghost Galaxy. The publisher announced on October 22, 2026, that it had reached an agreement with Universal and Fantasy Flight Games to bring back the game with an updated design, rather than simply reprint the original.

Ghost Galaxy plans to launch crowdfunding in early 2027. That window is for the campaign, not a confirmed shipping or retail-release date, an important distinction for players hoping to put the new edition on their table.

The project has a direct connection to the original publication. Corey Konieczka designed the game, which Fantasy Flight Games released in 2008. Ghost Galaxy CEO Christian T. Petersen, Fantasy Flight’s former founder and CEO, says he oversaw that original release.

What the update will change remains unclear. Tabletop Sentinel reported on October 23 that specific design changes had not been revealed, and there was no news about whether the Pegasus, Exodus or Daybreak expansions would return to print. Players should not assume those expansions are part of the new edition’s plans.

In its October 22 announcement, Ghost Galaxy also said a crowdfunding page would launch in the following weeks. The available information does not confirm that the page is live, leaving the planned early-2027 campaign as the main announced milestone.
