CGE Adds One-Shot Website for Codenames: Critical Role Adventures
The standalone mission option offers hero selection, three difficulty settings and reusable sheets outside the main campaign.
Codenames: Critical Role Adventures has a website for setting up standalone missions outside its campaign, according to CGE’s September 16, 2026 announcement. The one-shot option gives groups a way to arrange a single-mission session without assembling their regular campaign group.
According to CGE, players can generate a random party of three heroes or choose the heroes themselves, then select easy, medium or hard difficulty. Missions can also be randomized for a quick setup or selected individually, giving groups control over what they tackle.
CGE also says the one-shot setup does not require players to write on the sheets, allowing them to reuse those sheets. The publisher still describes the full campaign as the game’s strongest experience, positioning one-shots as a casual alternative rather than a replacement.
Extreme difficulty and custom mission creation were listed as future additions in the September announcement, not as available launch features. That announcement does not establish whether either has since been added.
