Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition now has a date for Switch 2. Gematsu reports that Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced an August 28 launch for the all-in-one version, bringing the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree expansion to Nintendo's new hardware.

The same report also says the additional Tarnished Pack will arrive that day for existing versions of Elden Ring. That matters because the new armor, weapons, and Torrent appearance customization are not being treated as Switch 2-only additions.

What is included

Gematsu describes Tarnished Edition as a complete package: Elden Ring plus the major Shadow of the Erdtree downloadable content. For players who waited for a Nintendo version, that is the clearest selling point. This is not just the base game arriving late; it is the fuller version of the game arriving with its biggest expansion attached.

The separate Tarnished Pack is the other practical detail. Existing players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC should not need to buy a Switch 2 copy just to access the newly announced extras.

Crosspad takeaway

Elden Ring is still a dark, difficult, and often unsettling action RPG. Crosspad readers already know the content conversation around FromSoftware games: the artistry is remarkable, but the world is grim and the challenge can be intense. This release date does not change that discernment question.

What it does change is access. A Switch 2 release gives Nintendo-focused players a clearer path into one of the defining RPGs of the last several years. Families and players who prefer portable play should still look carefully at tone, violence, and difficulty before jumping in, but the package itself looks substantial.
