Touhou tabletop RPG Gensou Narratograph targets English release in 2027
LionWing’s first English edition has a reported November 3 BackerKit launch, with limited-window hardcovers and a planned retail softcover.
LionWing has announced the first English edition of Gensou Narratograph, the tabletop role-playing game based on Touhou Project. According to Anime News Network’s October 25 report, the publisher is targeting a 2027 release and plans to launch a BackerKit crowdfunding campaign on November 3, 2026. That November date is the planned start of crowdfunding, not the game’s release.
The game supports up to four players and one game master, Anime News Network reports. LionWing describes a blend of everyday, slice-of-life storytelling and Danmaku Duels inspired by Touhou’s bullet-hell confrontations, bringing both quieter character moments and duels into its tabletop format.
LionWing advertises 30 playable characters, new character art and a map, plus a 100-page replay featuring ZUN. Anime News Network also reports that the rulebook will include 21 locales to explore. These are advertised contents for the English edition, rather than a hands-on assessment of the finished book.
Readers considering a physical copy will have three planned editions to choose from. According to Anime News Network, two hardcover versions will be exclusive to the ordering window, with painted edges on one of them. LionWing also plans a softcover for retail, so the announced print options are not limited to those exclusive hardcovers.
