Paizo’s 13 Omens launches on Kickstarter with standalone horror sessions
The modern supernatural RPG pairs one-shot stories with a shared dice pool that makes failure more likely as play progresses.
Paizo’s 13 Omens has launched on Kickstarter, offering a modern supernatural horror RPG built for standalone sessions rather than an ongoing campaign. Paizo listed a launch announcement on October 13, 2026, and EN World confirmed the crowdfunding launch in its October 14 report.
Designed by Jason Bulmahn and Joe Pasini, 13 Omens is described by Paizo as rules-lite and easy to learn. EN World reports that each one-shot session tells a complete story, making that self-contained format a central part of the game’s pitch.
Its dice system gives those stories an escalating risk of failure. According to EN World, players make checks by drawing dice from a shared pool kept in a bag. More Omen dice enter that pool as play progresses, increasing the likelihood that checks will fail.
EN World’s October 14 report listed the digital rulebook at $15 and the physical rulebook at $35. It also reported more than $150,000 raised on the first day and a campaign closing date of November 14, 2026. Those are the outlet’s reported prices and funding figures, not independently verified current Kickstarter terms or totals.
Before launch, Paizo said the Kickstarter would include adventure zines, accessories and play aids alongside the core rulebook. That announcement outlines the planned range, rather than confirming what any particular pledge includes. The crowdfunding launch should also not be confused with delivery of the finished game.
