Eldfall Chronicles: Northern Wind brings a big cooperative wargame box to preorder
Eldfall Chronicles: Northern Wind Core Box has moved into the North American preorder conversation. ICv2 reports that Freecompany d.o.o. has the box on U.S. preorder with an expected August 30, 2026 launch and a $241 retail price.
The pitch is not a small expansion. ICv2 lists 15 miniatures, cards, scenery pieces, standees, more than 200 tokens, a rulebook, and a Northern Wind Quest Log. Tabletop Renaissance’s product page describes it as a standalone tactical dungeon-crawl board game and roleplaying campaign set in the world of Eldfall Chronicles, with miniatures that remain compatible with the skirmish wargame.
Why it matters
That hybrid identity is the interesting part. Northern Wind is not only selling more figures to existing skirmish players. It is also trying to give new players a cooperative adventure box with enough structure to sit on the table without requiring a full competitive scene first.
The caution is price and commitment. A large tactical box can be a great centerpiece for the right group and a very expensive shelf ornament for the wrong one. Before buying, players should ask whether they want campaign play, model assembly, rules learning, and a longer-term game system. The dramatic box photo should not be the deciding factor.

For tabletop families, this is worth watching because cooperative fantasy combat can be easier to share than cutthroat skirmish play. But the wise path is still the boring one: read the components, confirm the delivery window with your store, and make sure the table actually wants this much game.
