White Wolf to Take Over World of Darkness RPG Publishing in 2027
Renegade’s partnership ends after 2026, with promised PDF access preserved and future reprints left to White Wolf.
White Wolf will take over development, publishing and ongoing support for World of Darkness tabletop RPGs beginning in 2027, according to Renegade Game Studios. Renegade’s publishing partnership ends at the close of 2026, changing who will handle the line’s future books and support.
White Wolf has confirmed the planned transition and says its studio will lead tabletop development, beginning with a new edition of Vampire: The Masquerade already in progress. Its statement does not specify an edition number.
For customers, the change separates future purchases from access to books they already own digitally. Renegade says World of Darkness titles will remain available from it through the end of 2026, while supplies last, and sales will stop after that. Previously purchased PDFs will remain accessible through customers’ existing Renegade webstore order history, even though those products will no longer appear publicly or be available for new purchase on the store.
Renegade says all of its currently announced World of Darkness books remain planned for release. It lists Vampire: The Masquerade Courts of the Damned and Werewolf: The Apocalypse Tribes of Gaia for October 2026, though the announcement does not establish whether either book has shipped.
Organized play, convention games and community programs will retain Renegade’s support through the end of 2026, the publisher says. White Wolf also says existing products, orders and previously announced commitments will be honored during the transition.
Future reprints of Renegade-developed books remain unconfirmed. Renegade says those decisions will rest with White Wolf as it sets the line’s direction.
