Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Operations Team plans to slow booster-pack releases from roughly four-week cycles to six-week cycles with a new series scheduled for the end of October 2026. The October 15 producer letter also outlines unlimited-use rental decks and a new deck-sharing feature, changes that would give players more time between releases and more options for building and trying decks.

The team says players reported difficulty collecting because of the number of cards released in each pack through B series. The longer release cycle addresses that feedback, though the announcement does not establish whether the change will resolve those collecting difficulties.

For battling, the planned Community Decks feature would let players browse player-created decks in-game, including popular decks and friends’ decks, then copy them using their own cards. That ownership requirement distinguishes it from the rental-deck changes: beginning with the new series, the team plans to make rental decks available when booster packs release, remove their usage limit and allow them in versus battles.

Dual-type Pokémon are also announced for the new series, but the letter does not explain their rules. Separately, the team plans battle events that limit which cards are eligible, held a set period after each booster-pack release. Those announcements leave the details of dual-type play and event restrictions unresolved.

Collectors would gain another route to immersive cards through missions that reward completing collections. Those rewards are planned to differ from the immersive cards obtained by opening booster packs. The announced Special Pack: First Partners will feature first partner Pokémon from nine regions and use separate special-pack stamina that recovers once a week, rather than the system for normal booster packs.

Trading and sharing improvements are also planned, including tools to identify cards missing from a trade partner’s card dex and cards on a share partner’s wishlist. The team has supplied an end-of-October window rather than an exact update day, and cautions that the announced content remains under development. Both the features and their timing may change.
